We welcome Lucerne Symphony Orchestra on Friday, 15 May 2026, at 7:30 pm at the Kursaal Engelberg, inviting guests to enjoy a breathtaking performance and a varied evening of works ranging from Viennese Classicism to the 20th century.
The international orchestra brings together musicians from around 20 countries. The programme features Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's half-hour Piano Concerto No. 17 in G major, Giovanni Pergolesi's Sinfonia from the opera Adriano in Siria, Domenico Cimarosa's overture to the opera Il matrimonio segreto, and Sergei Prokofiev's Symphony No. 1 in D major.
The highlight of this impressive concert is the young pianist Ilya Shmukler, who has attracted international attention - not least as a prize winner at the prestigious Cliburn Competition.
